Belly piercing
Get the Flash Player to see this player.Whenever one muscle is stimulated, it's antagonist is inhibited. As the skin of the belly is pierced, the abdominal muscles are reflexly facilitated (from the withdrawal reflex) and the extensors or back muscles must be inhibited as long as the metal remains. You can see in this video how the quadratus lumborum is inhibited. The inhibition is resolved temporarily by pushing the piercing laterally and permanently resolved by removing it.
